The idea for this course came out of my experience teaching a variety of speaking courses based on TED Talks, podcasts, news, and other material. I have found that including input during class time takes away from the time participants have to just speak. In addition, many students don't have the time or the desire to have material assigned as homework. Therefore, I have decided to create a course which is truly based solely on speaking. The group will be limited to a maximum number of 10 participants, to ensure that everyone has plenty of time to practice speaking. We will talk about our daily lives and thoughts, and participants will be asked to suggest topics for the group to consider before class.
From time to time, we may use some in-class material as a basis for discussion, but the majority of the time will be devoted to pure speaking practice since talking is the only way to truly improve speaking skills! Naturally, grammar will be corrected and vocabulary will be provided as necessary. If becoming more comfortable in communicating in English is your goal, this course is for you.

Der Kurs findet online auf der Lernplattform der Volkshochschulen, der vhs.cloud, statt. Zur Teilnahme benötigen Sie einen Kurscode, den Sie mit der Anmeldebestätigung erhalten.

Voraussetzungen für die Teilnahme an dem Online-Kurs sind ein aktueller PC oder Mac mit ausreichend schneller Internet-Verbindung sowie möglichst ein Headset und eine Kamera. Für die aktive Nutzung des Konferenztools sind die Browser Mozilla Firefox und Google Chrome besonders geeignet.
